Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026
Overview
sine~ is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your conversations with AI should be private, secure, and under your control. This policy explains how sine~ handles your data—spoiler: we don't collect it.
TL;DR
- No data collection - sine~ doesn't collect any of your data
- No analytics - We don't track how you use the app
- On-device encryption - All data stored locally with platform encryption
- Direct API connections - Your messages go directly to providers, not through us
Data We Collect
Local by default. sine~ stores all data locally on your device with encryption. We do not collect or transmit your conversations, API keys, or personal information to our servers.
We don't collect:
- Your conversations
- Your API keys
- Usage analytics
- Device information
- Location data
- Anything else
Data Storage
All data in sine~ is stored locally on your device using platform-native encrypted storage:
iOS
API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-backed encryption. Conversations and settings are stored in encrypted Core Data storage.
Android
API keys are stored using EncryptedSharedPreferences with AES-256 encryption. Conversations are stored in an encrypted SQLite database.
API Key Handling
Your API keys are:
- Stored locally - Encrypted on your device, never transmitted to sine~
- Used directly - Sent directly to the API provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.)
- Your responsibility - You manage them with your provider
We recommend rotating your API keys periodically and revoking them if you suspect they've been compromised.
Third-Party Services
sine~ connects to third-party AI providers and services that have their own privacy policies:
When you use these services through sine~, your data is subject to their privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
MCP Servers
Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers are third-party services you can connect to sine~. These servers:
- Run their own code and have their own privacy policies
- May require OAuth authentication
- Receive data when you use their tools
Only connect to MCP servers you trust. Review their privacy policies before connecting.
Data Deletion
Since all data is stored on your device, you have complete control:
- Delete conversations - Swipe to delete in the conversation list
- Clear all data - Uninstall the app to remove all data
- Remove API keys - Delete in Settings → Providers
Children's Privacy
sine~ is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children, as we don't collect data from anyone. If you're under 13, please don't use the app.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or on this website. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised.
